Shoulder and elbow pain are extremely common complaints that have many causes.

Arthritis is a major cause of shoulder pain. Arthritis wears away cartilage, decreasing the protective lining between the bones, causing painful bone on bone friction and rubbing. Severe shoulder arthritis is quite painful, and can cause restriction of motion. Additionally, there are many other causes of shoulder and elbow pain that may involve muscle, tendon, or ligament injury. The cause of the problem must be identified, and then a treatment approach developed and executed.
